Cherry Pie

Ingredients:

• 2 Prepared Pie Crusts
• 4 Cups Fresh Cherries, Pitted
• 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
• ½ Cup Cornstarch
• 2 tsp Lemon Juice
• 1 tsp Cinnamon
• ½ tsp Nutmeg
• 1 Egg, Lightly Beaten
• 2 Tbs Granulated Sugar

Prep Steps:

1: Preheat Oven to 400°F.

Steps:

1: In a large bowl, toss the cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg to combine thoroughly.   
2: Line a pie plate with one prepared pie crust.   
3: Pour the cherries into the pie plate.   
4: Slice remaining pie crust into strips and cover pie with woven lattice.   
5: Brush the top of the dough with egg and sprinkle with sugar.   
6: Bake for 20 minutes at 400°.   
7: Turn the heat down to 350° and bake for an additional 30-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.   
8: Allow the pie to cool for 6 hours or overnight before serving.
