| • 5½ to 6 Cups Flour |
| • 2 pkgs Dry Yeast |
| • 1 Tbs Sugar |
| • 2 tsp Salt |
| • ¼ tsp Baking Soda |
| • 2 Cups Milk |
| • ½ Cup Water |
| • Cornmeal |
| 1: Grease two loaf pans, 8½ × 5½ inches, and sprinkle with cornmeal. |
| 2: Preheat oven to 400° (eventually). |
| 1: Combine 3 Cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and soda. | |
| 2: Heat liquids until rather warm, 120° to 130° F. | |
| 3: Add liquids to dry mixture and beat well. | |
| 4: Stir in enough more flour to make a stiff batter. | |
| 5: Spoon batter into two prepared loaf pans. | |
| 6: Cover and let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes. | |
| 7: Bake at 400° F for 25 minutes. | |
| 8: Remove from pans immediately and cool. |
