| 1: Put milk, water, and eggs into bread machine pan. |
| 2: Add dry ingredients except butter, yeast, and zest on top of the liquids. |
| 3: Cube butter into about 12 or 16 pieces, and distribute over the dry. |
| 4: Sprinkle the orange zest over the dry, avoiding the center. |
| 5: Make a small well in the center and put the yeast in it. |
| 6: Set bread machine for 1½-pound loaf and set to start. (The timer can be used, but remember that there's milk there.) |
| 1: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). |
| 2: Heat milk and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat until butter melts. Remove from heat and add warm water. Mixture should be around 110°F (43°C). |
| 3: Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic. Place dough into a lightly greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, 1 to 2 hours. |
| 4: Punch dough down and shape into a large round loaf with a round knob on top. Place dough onto a baking sheet; loosely cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place until just about doubled in size, about 1 hour. |
| 5: Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 35 to 45 minutes. Cool slightly before brushing with glaze. |
