This bread gives a chewy crust and a soft, almost spongy middle. You can make it with pretty much any beer or malt-based alcoholic beverage (such as flavored coolers).
| • 3 cups self-rising flour |
| • ½ cup granulated sugar |
| • 1½ cups beer |
| 1: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). | |

Part of the brilliance of this recipe is its simplicity. With American ingredient measurements, it's easy to remember as "three and a half, one, three and a half, one." (3 cups, ½ cup, 1 can of beer, 3½ hundred degrees, 1 hour.)
