Cornbread

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Heat oven to 400 F.
  2. Spray bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with cooking spray.
  3. Melt butter in microwave.
  4. In large bowl, beat butter, milk and egg with fork or whisk until well mixed.
  5. Add cornmeal, flour, sugar, powder, and salt, all at once.
  6. Stir just until flour is moistened. Batter will be lumpy.
  7. Pour into pan. Spread evenly, smooth top.
  8. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and tests done with toothpick.

Modifications

This recipe is as we found it, but we found that the sugar was too much.
