Caramel Corn
Ingredients
- 1 gallon popped popcorn (about ½ unpopped kernels)
- 1½ cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup butter
- ⅓ cup light corn syrup
- ¾ tsp salt
- ¾ tsp baking soda
Preparation
- Pop the popcorn into a large brown grocery bag.
- Melt the butter in a large microwave safe bowl.
- Mix in the brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt.
- Microwave until it boils (about 1½ minutes), and then 2 more minutes.
- Thoroughly stir in the baking soda.
- Pour caramel over the popped corn. Roll top of bag down and shake the heck out of it.
- Microwave on high for 1½ minutes, and then shake the heck out of it.
- Microwave on high for 1½ minutes again, and then shake the heck out of it.
